I included the 6 passes done at the LA practice session as well as 2 other series taught at Pheonix. Hope this helps! PHEONIX PASSES Elegant Series: (done gracefully and with fluidity) 1. The Left palm Cirles clockwise above the head as if polishing a flat surface above the head. The flat left palm faces upward. Fingers point to the right. As the circle is completed, lower the left palm to the right thiegh. Gracefully smear the energy up the right thiegh, passing the adrenals, to the left chest area. The right does the same movement. Alternate. 2. Start with the left palm facing upward at the level of the groin. The wrist is bent as the palm is at a 90 degree angle with the forearm. Fingers point to the right. As if polishing the underside of a flat surface, gracefully circle the palm counter-clockwise in front of the body, at the level of the groin. Fingers stay pointed right. As the palm reaches it's starting point in front of the groin, move the palm to the right until it reaches the level of the right elbow, then move it to the far left to about the level of the left shoulder. From there the right palm swiftly chops an area directly behind the left buttocks. The energy is then smeared 3 times to the left kidney area. The right does the same movement. Alternate. 3. Grab forcefully at an area at the level of the groin in front of the body with the left hand. Keep the left hand in a fist. Do the same movement with the right, so both fists are now tense, at the same level. Slowly pull both fists to the back, left fist going to left kidney area, right fist going to right kidney area. Open hands and smear energy about 6 inches down the back. Not touching the buttocks. Immidiately after smearing, grab with left then right at the same level, this time behind the body. Fists are tense as they pull the energy forward. Smear the energy about 6 inches upward in front of the body. Not touching the chest. 4 passes in an unnamed series: 1. Left hand goes to the left side of the face. Thumb underneath the chin almost like "2 Prongs on the Face" except that the index and middle finger press into the left temple instead of under the eye. Left elbow lowers to rest right above the left knee. Weight is on the left leg. Hold for a count of 10. Do the same movement on the right. 2. Bend over so the trunk is about 90 degrees with the legs and straighten the left arm. Arm is straight with palm flat facing forward. Fingers point to the ground. Bring the right wrist to the back of the left elbow. The knob that serves as a hinge for the right wrist is placed into a hollow at the back of the left elbow. The hollow is slightly above the elbow, between two tendons. Vibrate for a count of ten. Do the same movement with the right. 3. Wrists of each hand are bent so that the back of each wrist is touching the ribcage. The fingers of each hand are loosely pointed outward. Concentration is on the back of the wrist and the ribcage as one lifts the backs of the wrists as high as possible. The Backs of the wrists are lifted vertically as close as possible to the armpits and lightly vibrated against the ribcage to a count of 10. 4. Stand naturally. The right wrist is lightly and loosely lifted to the crook of the left arm. This crook is made as the right wrist is gently compressed by the left forearm lifting vertically, as if the left arm were lifting a dumbell. This light and loose motion is repeated 5 times. At the fifth lift, the left forearm freezes at it's zenith, forearm and wrist straight, fingers pointed straight up. The right arm turns slightly as the right palm faces upward. The arms are held in this position as the upper trunk and arms turn to the left as far as the trunk allows. (Hips face forward). Hold for a count of 10. Release The movement is repeated only this time the right Forearm is caught in the crook of the left arm. The movement is repeated again, but on this third repetition the right arm is caught just above the elbow in the crook of the left arm. It is not repeatedly compressed 5 times but instead is held there on the first lift, as the left arm reaches it's zenith. Turn. Hold for 10. Release Repeat all movements on the right side. 6 passes of an unnamed series (I call them the tension series, all passes in this series are done with great force and tension) 1. Stomach is kept tense to make the hands jolt. Hands slap a flat surface at the level of the groin with a jolt, palms face down, fingers point forward. Hands grab with a jolt. Palm faces upward and slaps the same surface with the back of the palm with a jolt. Hand still faces upward as the hand grabs with a jolt. Done quickly and without pause. Counted out something like this: Down-grab-Up-grab-Down-grab-Up-grab-Down.... 2. Done at the same level as the last pass only this time the forearm doesn't move. The wrists flip outward with a jolt, fingers are pointing away from the body, palm faces down. Grab with the wrists in this position. Turn wrists inward with a jolt, palms still face down, fingers point toward each other. Grab in this postion. Done quickly and without pause. 3. I call this one "Lifting a Dumbell". The Left arm flips upward and simultaneously makes a fist and jolts. The stomach is tensed as you punch. Almost as if you were giving someone an upper cut, except that the upper arm above the elbow is always touching the body. Do with left 10 times, then with right 10 times. 4. Grab energy on the right shoulder with the left hand. Pull the energy, with great force to the left. Stop when the left forearm is vertical, and the left elbow is in line with the left shoulder. Do the same movement on the right side. Alternate. 5. Extend left arm in front of the body with palm up, fingers facing forward, arm straight. Pull the forearm in close to the body while making a fist with the left palm. The forearm is parallel to the ground and the fist is next to the ribcage. Slowly turn the fist 180 degrees until the palm faces down. Slowly and with great force push the left forearm out to the left, as if you were pushing something away from the body. Do the same movement with the right side. Alternate. 6. Resembles lifting a bucket. Grab with the left hand at the level of the mid calf on the outer side of the left leg. Slowly and with great force (imagine you are lifting a heavy pail of water), lift the bucket vertically up the left side till you reach the left armpit, or as close as you can come to it. Quickly flip the arm, so that the elbow is now below the fist, the forearm is vertical. Continue lifting the bucket until the arm is fully extended upward. Do the same movement on the right side. Alternate. |
